Anglezarke Reservoir
The vast Anglezarke Reservoir is situated east of Chorley Lancs nesting on the borders of The Pennine Way . The Reservoir has a area in excess of 190 acres and supplies the City of Liverpool with its drinking water so strict bait restrictions are imposed but bags of bream in excess of 50lbs are obtain by just using a maggot filled swimfeeder . The water has excellent pike fishing with specimens up to 20lbs being caught.
Please note the following bait restrictions apply
No loose breadfeed (is allowed on the hook) No groundbait Loose feed of maggot, caster and worm allowed (no bloodworm) No livebait unless caught from the water (deadbaits are allowed) No flavoured baits No sweetcorn, luncheon meat or hemp. Please Note that it is compulsory for anglers fishing for pike to have a landing net of at least 36" and an unhooking mat. You also need sufficient unhooking equipment. And remember to return your catch AS SOON AS POSSIBLE
There is no fishing allowed on both banks of the northern half of the reservoir (Chorley end) from 14th March - 15th June due to this area being a wildlife reserve. Keepnets are not allowed on this water. Please purchase day tickets before starting fishing anyone found without a valid ticket or permit will be removed from the waters
