River Crossens Access Warning

The access road to the Sixfields section of the River Crossens via Gravel Lane is in a bad state of repair at the moment and could cause vehicle damage. The Association recommends that the track should not be used until the issue is resolved. Any person using this route does so at their own risk.

Junior Spring Match

Angling Trades Association Warns Against Illegal Lead Fishing Weights

Anglers are being urged to avoid purchasing lead weights in sizes that are illegal for angling use. The call – made by the Angling Trades Association (ATA) – comes after it conducted research into the sale of lead shot on the internet and in ‘pound shops’. This revealed that some illegal weights are being offered for sale, leaving both the sellers and the users liable to prosecution.

31 Jan 2012 - Further Stocking

A further 200lbs of roach have today been stocked, this time into the Rufford Canal. The fish have been health checked prior to being re-located.

The fish vary in size from 2oz to 8oz.

Will anglers take the utmost care when driving in and out of the access road to Ribbleside Farm car park as the track is extremely slippy at the moment due to the recent frost

With the help of the Environment Agency, 200lbs of roach have today been stocked into the new water at Jacksmere Lane. The fish have been sourced from a local trout lake, and have been health checked prior to being re-located.

The fish vary in size from 2oz to 8oz.

New Platforms

Work has now started on installing fishing platforms on the Moss Lane area of The Three Pools, the work should be complete by the end of February. Members are asked not use the platforms until the project is completely finished.

Jack's Mere Fishery

All nets are to be dipped in the tank that has recently been provided.
Keepnets are only allowed in prearranged matches on this water.

Membership 2012

Subscriptions for 2012 will not be increased but Part Year membership will no longer be available.
It is not cost effective to run this type of membership when the admin costs are rising.
Please plan your year for membership.
Remember it will take at least 7 days for the post to turn around.

The Banks Saddle & Tackle

This shop has closed due to the retirement of the owners. Therfore Day Tickets are no longer available from this outlet. Please amend your membership books.

Committee 2012

The current Honorary Secretary, Bill Hurst will retire at the end of 2011.
Mr Paul Tabron will take over as Honorary Secretary from 1st January 2012.
We would like to thank Bill on behalf of the membership for his hard work and commitment during his time as Secretary.

Shooting Parties.

Would members please be aware when fishing near Sluice Farm that there will be a shoot most weekend by the wood this can take place at any time in the day.

New Fishery

Jack's Mere Fishery

We have taken up a lease with Turfland Ltd to use the the small lake on Jack's Mere at Scarsbrick.

Maps and details are to be found in the November Newsletter and under 'Waters' on this site.
